About

Sustainability

At Otolift, we care deeply about people and the planet. That’s why we build stairlifts that last, using fewer resources and smarter materials. We work to reduce waste and energy use, keep our workplace safe and welcoming, and follow strong rules to do the right thing. We design stairlifts that can be reused, repaired, or recycled, helping protect the environment for future generations while supporting people to live safely and comfortably at home.

Circularity

Giving stairlifts a second life

Otolift stairlifts get a second life thanks to our unique refurbishing program. When a stairlift is no longer needed, we collect it from the home and carefully restore key parts like the rail and chair. The rail re-enters our production process, and the chair gets cleaned, repaired, and checked on quality.

This circular design reduces the need for new materials. In fact, our refurbished stairlifts have a lower carbon footprint by up to 46% compared to a new stairlift.

Environment

Reducing emissions

Otolift is working hard to lower our carbon footprint. We measure all our emissions and we’ve set clear goals in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. Our initiatives include switching to electric vehicles, using renewable electricity, and engaging with our suppliers on this topic.

We’re proud to be ISO 14001 certified, showing our commitment to responsible environmental management. Every year, we aim to cut our emissions per stairlift sold, so you can feel confident that your choice supports a cleaner future.

Social

Inclusion and social impact

Otolift is committed to giving everyone the opportunity to participate and contribute. That’s why Otolift works with companies that support people with disabilities and those distanced from the job market.

For example, our company canteen is proudly run by a team from Stichting Dagbesteding Krimpenerwaard, an organization dedicated to adding structure and joy to the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. At Otolift, this translates into meaningful work opportunities and delicious meals for our employees.  We also set diversity goals, including increasing the number of female managers, because we know that a more inclusive workplace leads to better ideas and stronger teams.

Performance

Quality and Safety

Every Otolift stairlift is built with care, precision, and safety in mind. Our engineering excellence ensures smooth performance and long-lasting reliability so you can feel confident every time you use it. We’re proud to be ISO 9001 certified, which means our quality management meets international standards. A stairlift that lasts longer doesn’t just offer peace of mind but it also helps reduce waste and save resources, making it a smart and sustainable choice for your home.
